INFORMATION FOR INVESTORS

Tanauan City in Batangas Province boasts a vibrant economic scene and rich history that appeal to investors. Originally, Tanauan's commercial activities revolved around a small talipapa (flea market) set next to the Philippine National Railways rails. This developed over time into a formal public market where agricultural goods from Calabarzon, Bicol, and Mindoro areas were essential for trade. Notwithstanding obstacles-including a major fire in the 1950s-the market has stayed a major component of the city's economy.
In recent decades, Tanauan City has transformed into a major industrial center. A pivotal development was the establishment of the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in 1996, a joint venture between Sumitomo Corporation and First Philippine Holdings Corporation. Spanning 520 hectares across Tanauan and Santo Tomas, FPIP hosts numerous multinational companies.
The city clearly values sustainable energy, with Prime Solar Solutions Corporation completing a 64-megawatt solar power facility in May 2024. This plant not only improves the local electricity supply but also fits national objectives to boost renewable energy sources, therefore establishing Batangas as a possible Philippine energy hub.
Tanauan City is a desirable location for a variety of investment opportunities due to its historical significance, strong industrial growth, dedication to sustainable energy, and strategic initiatives in trade and agriculture.
