Philippine authorities have intensified the manhunt for fugitive gambling tycoon Charlie “Atong” Ang, who has been spotted in Calabarzon but continues to evade capture by frequently changing hideouts and using multiple vehicles to avoid detection.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla confirmed that Ang has been moving around Region 4-A with a small group of associates, typically three people, shifting locations every few days. “We are hot on his trail. Paliit na nang paliit ‘yung mundo niya,” Remulla said, emphasizing that Ang’s options are narrowing as police operations tighten.

Authorities disclosed that Ang has been seen in Calabarzon several times in recent weeks but narrowly escaped arrest each time. He reportedly switches cars and houses frequently, making it difficult for law enforcement to track him. Remulla explained that Ang does not stay in one place for long, hopping from one safehouse to another to elude capture.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has coordinated with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), which has already issued a red notice against Ang. This means that even if he manages to flee abroad, he will face international pursuit and possible extradition.

Ang is wanted for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of cockfight enthusiasts (sabungeros), a case that has drawn national attention. His continued evasion has frustrated authorities, but officials insist that his movements are becoming increasingly limited.

The manhunt in Calabarzon remains ongoing, with police checkpoints and surveillance operations set up across the region. Remulla assured the public that Ang’s capture is only a matter of time, stressing that the government is determined to bring him to justice.
