APRIL 20, 2026 — Representative Terry Ridon’s revelation of Land Transportation Office (LTO) records confirming Ramil Madriaga’s ownership of luxury motorcycles and vehicles has added weight to the explosive affidavit linking former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte to questionable fund allocations.

This development intensifies the impeachment proceedings and raises urgent questions about accountability in Philippine politics.

On April 19, Bicol Saro Partylist Rep. Terry Ridon presented official LTO records showing that 14 motorcycles were registered under Ramil Madriaga and his son, with six later transferred to new owners. Among them were two Harley-Davidsons and two Ducatis, which Madriaga earlier testified were funded by former President Duterte. Also on the list was an FJ Cruiser allegedly used to deliver duffel bags of cash from confidential funds.

Ridon emphasized the significance of these findings.

“Relevant po itong listahan na ito para ipakita na may bahagi ng kanyang affidavit na pwede ma corroborate at nakabatay sa katotohanan,” he said.

(This list is relevant to show that parts of his affidavit can be corroborated and are based on truth.)

He added, “While it may be correct that there are various inconsistencies in the testimony of Mr. Madriaga, there are also truths sa kanilang binabanggit.”

(While it may be correct that there are various inconsistencies in Mr. Madriaga’s testimony, there are also truths in what he mentioned.)

Madriaga, detained at Camp Bagong Diwa for kidnapping charges, appeared before the House Justice Committee on April 14 after a court allowed his testimony. His claims of being Vice President Sara Duterte’s “bagman” have shaken the political landscape, especially as the committee prepares to tackle SALN and bank records of VP Duterte on April 22.

The motorcycles and SUVs referred to here are not just symbols of wealth — they represent alleged misuse of public funds meant for governance. At a time when many workers struggle with rising fuel prices and stagnant wages, revelations of luxury purchases tied to confidential funds strike a nerve.

The inconsistencies in Madriaga’s testimony may weaken parts of his narrative, but the confirmed ownership of these vehicles strengthens the core of his allegations.

The question now is whether Congress will pursue the truth with the same urgency as the public demands — or if this will be another scandal buried under political maneuvering.

Do you think our leaders can really prove that accountability is more than just a word in Philippine politics?
