DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — Two close friends were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Saguing, Dinalupihan, after authorities caught them allegedly selling shabu to undercover police officers posing as customers.
The incident has drawn attention not only for the drug bust itself but also for the unusual detail that the suspects were handcuffed together after their arrest.
According to a report from News5, the suspects identified only as “Jack” and “Gil” were apprehended during the operation. Police seized 2.5 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱17,000, along with a cellphone believed to have been used in their drug transactions.
Authorities confirmed that the two were long-time friends, which sparked online reactions labeling them “beshie goals gone wrong.”
Witnesses noted that after the arrest, the suspects were placed inside a police vehicle with their hands cuffed to each other, symbolizing both their friendship and shared accountability in the crime.
“Kapwa nahuli ng mga pulis na nagpanggap na customer sina ‘Jack’ at ‘Gil’ na nagbebenta ng droga,” News5 reported.
The suspects are now facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Police emphasized that the operation was part of their intensified campaign against illegal drugs in Bataan, which continues to be a priority in the region.
Authorities also reminded the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help curb the spread of narcotics in communities.
This latest arrest highlights the ongoing challenges posed by illegal drugs in provincial areas and the importance of community cooperation in supporting law enforcement efforts. As investigations proceed, the case serves as a reminder that even close friendships can take a destructive turn when tied to criminal activities.
