MANILA, Philippines — February 28, 2026 — Malacañang has dismissed rumors circulating online that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was rushed to a hospital, assuring the public that the Chief Executive is in good health and continuing with his official duties.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro clarified that Marcos was in a private meeting with the Presidential Management Staff on Saturday morning. “The President was in a private meeting with PMS this morning. He is well, healthy, and working even on a Saturday,” Castro said in a statement.
The clarification came after unverified social media posts claimed that Marcos had been admitted to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City. Palace officials stressed that the reports were baseless and urged the public to rely on official government communications rather than online speculation.
Marcos was last seen publicly inspecting the newly upgraded Visayas Disaster Resource Center in Mandaue City, Cebu, on February 26, underscoring that he has remained active in his presidential duties.
This is not the first time rumors about Marcos’ health have circulated online, but Palace officials reiterated that the President continues to fulfill his responsibilities and remains in good condition. The administration emphasized that misinformation about the President’s health only distracts from governance and public service.
