QUEZON PROVINCE — Stakeholders in the cacao industry of Quezon have taken significant steps to strengthen the local sector through a recent provincial meeting organized by the Cacao Provincial Federation. The gathering brought together 30 presidents from various cacao associations across different towns, focusing on strategies to boost production, quality, and profitability for farmers and cooperatives.
Central to the discussions was the Cacao Roadmap 2026–2030, a plan aimed at expanding cacao output, improving product standards, and increasing farmer income. Participants also prepared for the upcoming Calabarzon Cacao Quality Award, a regional competition recognizing high-quality cacao products. This initiative is expected to further enhance the competitiveness of Quezon’s cacao in national and international markets.
Following the meeting, the annual assembly of the SICAP Quezon Agriculture Cooperative highlighted market-strengthening strategies for agricultural products, particularly cacao and its derivatives. Attendees left with a renewed sense of optimism, impressed by the collaboration and active engagement demonstrated by all members.
The event underscores the vital role of unity and cooperation in fostering a resilient agricultural sector. By aligning efforts and sharing resources, stakeholders hope to ensure sustainable growth and continued recognition for Quezon’s cacao industry.
As local farmers, cooperatives, and associations work together, can this spirit of collaboration truly transform Quezon into a leading cacao hub in the Philippines?
