Airport security at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 apprehended a foreign national following a theft incident that escalated into violence on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Initial reports indicated that a male Danish national allegedly took food items without paying. When confronted by store staff and their manager, the suspect refused to comply.
As the situation worsened, airport security personnel were called in. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly turned aggressive and repeatedly struck an Aviation Security (AVSEC) officer, leaving the officer injured.
Responding AVSEC personnel quickly subdued the suspect and brought him to NAIA Police Station 3 for investigation, documentation, and appropriate legal action.
Authorities are now conducting further inquiries and preparing charges in line with existing laws.
PNP AVSEGROUP director Police Gen. Dionisio Bartolome Jr. emphasized, “We remain committed to maintaining order and ensuring the safety of passengers, personnel, and concessionaires on the airport premises, and we emphasize that any unlawful or violent behavior will be dealt with decisively.”
This incident highlights the importance of strict enforcement of airport security protocols to protect both passengers and staff from disruptive and violent behavior.
