LUCENA CITY, Quezon — A vibrant showcase of young talent took center stage as the Que-Art Exhibit officially opened on May 4 at the Quezon Governor’s Mansion Compound. The exhibit features the works of youth artists from across the province, highlighting creativity, identity, and expression through various forms of visual art.
Participants, aged 11 to 25, presented a wide range of artworks—from colorful paintings to deeply symbolic pieces that reflect personal experiences, social perspectives, and aspirations. The exhibit serves as a platform for young Quezonians to express their voices in a meaningful and creative way.
The initiative, made possible through the efforts of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Quezon, aims to strengthen youth engagement in arts and culture. Organizers emphasized that empowering young artists not only nurtures talent but also builds confidence and a stronger sense of identity among participants.
More than just an art display, the Que-Art Exhibit reflects the growing role of creativity in shaping the next generation. Art, often seen as a form of self-expression, also becomes a tool for dialogue—allowing young people to communicate ideas that might otherwise go unheard.
However, the event also raises a broader question about sustainability. While exhibits like this provide valuable exposure, consistent support, funding, and opportunities remain crucial for young artists to thrive beyond temporary platforms. Without long-term investment, creative potential may remain underdeveloped.
The exhibit is open to the public from May to June at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, inviting visitors to witness firsthand the talent and vision of Quezon’s youth.
As we celebrate the creativity of young artists, are we creating enough opportunities for their voices to be heard beyond the gallery walls?
