QUEZON PROVINCE — The Quezon Huskers are making a strong statement ahead of the next Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) season by reinforcing their roster with the additions of Gilas Pilipinas standout Cedrick Manzano and MPBL veteran Will McAloney. The moves come as the Huskers seek to maintain their competitive edge following the departure of key players to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Fresh from a gold medal performance at the SEA Games with Gilas Pilipinas, Manzano brings his well-known double-double prowess from his UAAP days at Adamson University. His ability to dominate the paint and contribute on both ends of the court is expected to fill the void left by former Huskers stars Will Gozum, Xymon Sandagon, and Vince Magbuhos.

Joining him is seasoned campaigner Will McAloney, a former PBA player and multi-awarded MPBL veteran. With credentials that include MPBL All-Star MVP, three-time All-MPBL First Team recognition, and a championship title, McAloney is expected to provide leadership, defensive stability, and invaluable experience to the Huskers’ frontcourt.

Meanwhile, UAAP scoring sensation John Abate is set to fill the position left by Ljay Gonzales, as the team continues its off-season roster shake-ups in preparation for the MPBL Pre-Season Invitational on February 7. These strategic reinforcements indicate the Huskers’ determination to not only compete but contend for the championship. With this powerful lineup, the Quezon Huskers are signaling that they are ready to dominate the MPBL—but can the blend of youth, experience, and championship pedigree translate into a title run this season?
