LIPA CITY, Batangas, January 27, 2026 — Six Grade 12 students aged 17 to 19 survived a shooting incident while riding in a car in Barangay Marauoy, Lipa City, after a suspect allegedly opened fire on them in a fit of rage.
Police reports said the confrontation began when one of the students pressed the doorbell of the suspect’s house, which reportedly angered him. The suspect then fired shots at the vehicle carrying the students, but all of them escaped unharmed.
Authorities launched a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of the suspect. During the operation, police recovered a caliber .45 pistol believed to have been used in the shooting.
The suspect is now in custody while investigators prepare charges related to the incident.
