CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — Police authorities successfully arrested a man accused of stealing a tricycle in the early hours of January 30, 2026. The tricycle reportedly belonged to Danver Aductante, a resident of Blue House, Barangay Cotta, Lucena City.
The suspect, identified as Jeffrey Bacsa Marasigan, was allegedly attempting to bring the stolen vehicle to Calamba, Laguna, to sell it. The arrest and recovery of the tricycle were facilitated with the help of a concerned citizen who tipped off local authorities through the “Sawsawan ng Bayan” channel managed by Marlon Rapido.
Following the tip, the Lucena City Police and the Calamba Laguna Police coordinated their efforts to track, apprehend, and recover the stolen tricycle. Authorities commended the citizen’s vigilance, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in maintaining public safety.
This incident underscores how collaboration between citizens and law enforcement can quickly resolve criminal cases and prevent further crimes. It also raises awareness about the risks of vehicle theft in the region and the need for proactive security measures.
As Marasigan faces charges related to theft, residents are reminded to stay vigilant, secure their vehicles, and report suspicious activity promptly.
With citizen cooperation playing a key role in this arrest, the question arises: how much more effective could local law enforcement be if communities actively participated in crime prevention? (Larawan mula sa: Jose Marlon L Yasa / Facebook)
