FEBRUARY 12, 2026 — Forty years since Filipinos filled EDSA with courage and unity, the beat of People Power is set to echo once again — this time through music. On February 21, the Quezon Memorial Circle will host the People Power 40 kick-off concert, carrying the theme “Awit at Aksyon Kontra Korapsyon.” It’s not just a show; it’s a reminder that the spirit of 1986 isn’t locked in history books — it’s alive, and it demands action.
Organizers from Mayors for Good Governance and Kaya Natin! are clear about their mission: “People Power proved that the Filipino people, when united, can stand up to injustice and demand accountability.”
Their words hit home. After all, corruption is something that bleeds into everyday life, from potholes that never get fixed to public funds that vanish into thin air.
The concert lineup is stacked with names that can draw crowds: Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, Rivermaya, Ice Seguerra, Ebe Dancel, and more. Add comedians like Vice Ganda and Alex Calleja, plus actresses Iza Calzado and Bea Binene, and you’ve got a mix of entertainment and advocacy that’s hard to ignore.
The pre-show kicks off at 4 p.m., with the main program rolling at 6 p.m. — a full evening of music, laughter, and reflection.
But beyond the star power, the real headline is the message: unity and courage are not relics of the past. They’re tools we can wield today against corruption, inefficiency, and abuse of power. The concert isn’t about nostalgia — it’s about reminding us that democracy thrives only when citizens stay vigilant and engaged.
So here’s the challenge: if music can reignite the fire of People Power, will we let that rhythm push us to demand cleaner governance in our own time?
