MANILA, Philippines — February 13, 2026. De La Salle University confirmed that one of its students fell from a building inside its Manila campus earlier this week, prompting immediate response from authorities and raising concerns within the academic community.

In an official statement released through the university’s verified social media channels, DLSU said: “We confirm that a student fell from one of our campus buildings. The university is deeply saddened by this incident and is cooperating fully with the authorities in their investigation.”

The school added that medical assistance was provided right away and that the student was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The Manila Police District reported that investigators were dispatched to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the fall. Officials have not yet disclosed whether foul play was involved, but they assured the public that all angles are being considered.

Students and faculty members expressed shock over the incident, with many turning to social media to share messages of support and prayers for the student’s recovery. The university emphasized that counseling services are being made available to those affected.

DLSU reiterated its commitment to student safety, noting that security protocols are being reviewed. “The welfare of our students is our utmost priority. We are working closely with authorities to ensure that the campus remains a safe environment for learning,” the statement read.

As of press time, the student remains under medical care. Authorities have urged the public to refrain from speculation while the investigation continues.

This incident has sparked broader discussions about campus safety and mental health support in universities across the country. Government agencies, including the Commission on Higher Education, have been monitoring developments and are expected to coordinate with DLSU on preventive measures moving forward.
