DASMARIÑAS, Cavite — In a targeted police operation on March 23, 2026, authorities apprehended a 52-year-old man listed as a Provincial Level Most Wanted Person in Dasmariñas City. The arrest was conducted by the Warrant Personnel of the Dasmariñas Component City Police Station at approximately 6:35 PM, demonstrating continued law enforcement efforts to hold wanted individuals accountable.

The suspect, identified as alias Atan and a resident of Dasmariñas City, faces two counts of the Crime of Acts of Lasciviousness under Article 335 of the Revised Penal Code, in relation to Section 5(B) of RA 7610 as amended by RA 11648. The Warrant of Arrest was issued by the Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 129, Dasmariñas City, on February 27, 2026, with bail recommended at ₱180,000 per count.

Following the arrest, the accused is now detained at the custodial facility of the Dasmariñas CCPS, while the warrant will be returned to the issuing court for documentation and further proceedings. The operation utilized careful coordination and planning to ensure the safe apprehension of the suspect, reflecting a measured and procedural approach in line with the rule of law.

PCOL Ariel R Red lauded the operatives for their success, noting, “This successful arrest demonstrates the unwavering commitment of our police operatives in tracking down wanted persons and ensuring that justice is served. Cavite PPO remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the rule of law and protect the community from individuals facing criminal charges.”

While this arrest showcases effective policing, it also raises larger questions about public safety. Targeted operations can remove high-risk individuals from communities, yet broader prevention strategies—such as social programs, education, and community engagement—are often necessary to address underlying causes of crime.

As authorities continue to pursue wanted persons, one critical question remains: Can the apprehension of individuals alone truly create safer communities, or must law enforcement be paired with long-term social interventions to produce lasting security?
