Four people, including a couple, were killed in a tragic car crash in Angono, Rizal on Sunday afternoon after a speeding sedan lost control and rammed into a motorcycle and a bakery along Manila East Road in Barangay San Isidro.

Police confirmed that the victims included a 23-year-old motorcycle driver identified as James, his girlfriend Shiela Mae, a 15-year-old student, and a 69-year-old woman. All four died after being struck by the wayward vehicle around 1 p.m. on March 15, 2026. A 13-year-old boy was also injured but is now reported to be in stable condition.

CCTV footage showed the sedan traveling at high speed before hitting the motorcycle, throwing its driver and passenger onto the road. The car then plowed into a bakery, where two teenagers and the elderly woman were caught in the impact. Witnesses described the vehicle as “going so fast” before it suddenly swerved and crashed.

Authorities said the driver, a 66-year-old woman, was arrested and is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and serious physical injuries. Initial investigations suggest the car may have lost its brakes while descending a sloped road, leading to the fatal collision.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office has launched a full investigation into the incident, while the victims’ families are calling for accountability. Local officials also urged motorists to exercise caution, especially along busy stretches of Manila East Road, which has been the site of several accidents in recent years.

This tragedy has reignited calls for stricter road safety measures and vehicle maintenance checks, as residents mourn the loss of lives in what authorities described as one of the deadliest accidents in Angono in recent months.
