Margret Dianne FerminIpinost noong 2026-03-17 08:05:42 Donny Pangilinan and his father Anthony Pangilinan announced a P3.00 per liter rollback on diesel prices at their South Forbes gas station starting March 17, 2026, a move aimed at easing the burden of soaring fuel costs on the local community.

South Forbes, Philippines — In the midst of another round of steep fuel price hikes, actor Donny Pangilinan and his father, Anthony Pangilinan, have decided to cut diesel prices at their family-run gas station by P3.00 per liter beginning Tuesday, March 17.

Anthony Pangilinan shared the announcement through a Facebook post, explaining that the decision was made after assessing the impact of rising fuel costs not only on their business but more importantly on the community. “Our partner (yes, my son!) suggested a move that didn’t make sense ‘numbers wise’ but was 100% in sync with our mission: support those who need it most in the community,” he wrote.

He added, “Starting tomorrow, March 17, we cut P3.00 per liter from our regular prices for diesel products in our station in South Forbes. Will keep it running for as long as we are able. Let’s all do what we can, while we can, for as long as we are able.”

The rollback comes at a time when domestic oil prices are surging due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Industry forecasts show diesel prices could rise by as much as P20.40 to P23.90 per liter this week, while gasoline prices are expected to increase by P12.90 to P16.60 per liter.

The Pangilinans’ initiative has drawn attention for its community-centered approach, especially as many motorists and transport operators brace for the impact of these record-high fuel costs. Their decision to absorb losses in favor of affordability reflects a growing sentiment among small business owners to provide relief where possible.

Local motorists welcomed the announcement, noting that even a modest rollback can make a significant difference for daily commuters and transport workers. The South Forbes station’s pledge to maintain the reduced price “for as long as we are able” underscores the uncertainty of the current fuel market but also highlights the family’s commitment to social responsibility.

This move by Donny and Anthony Pangilinan stands out as a rare example of private initiative directly countering global price pressures, offering immediate relief to their community while reinforcing the importance of solidarity during economic challenges.
