PASAY CITY, Philippines — Tinalo ng “Green Bones” ang lahat sa 8th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards (EDDYS) na ginanap nitong Linggo ng gabi sa Marriott Grand Ballroom, matapos nitong maiuwi ang anim na pangunahing parangal kabilang na ang Best Picture, Best Director, at mga pangunahing acting award.

Pinangunahan ni Zig Dulay bilang direktor, kinilala rin ang pelikula sa Best Actor para kay Dennis Trillo, Best Supporting Actor para kay Ruru Madrid (na nagtabla kay Aga Muhlach para sa “Uninvited”), at Best Cinematography para kay Neil Daza. Ang pelikula, na gawa ng GMA Pictures, ay pinuri sa mabangis nitong kwento at emosyonal na lalim.

Sa kanyang acceptance speech, sinabi ni Trillo, “Of course, this performance will not be possible if not for the guidance of master choreographer and storyteller behind the camera, director Zig Dulay. I offer this award to him and to all the others who helped complete this film, some of whom did a harder job than what we did.”

Si Madrid naman, na ngayon ay may tatlong Best Supporting Actor awards para sa parehong role, ay emosyonal na nagbahagi: “To be honest, there was a time I questioned whether I truly deserved to be part of this film. But on the first day of our shoot, I felt something different—something tugged at my heart. And maybe that was God’s way of telling me, ‘Just give everything you’ve got to this film, and it will bear fruit.’”

Kinilala si Marian Rivera bilang Best Actress para sa kanyang pagganap sa “Balota” bilang isang guro na itinalagang protektahan ang mga balota sa isang tensyonadong halalan. “I want to dedicate this trophy to all teachers — not just for their role in elections or in guarding the ballots, but for their daily dedication to teaching students,” ani Rivera.

Nakuha ni Lorna Tolentino ang kanyang unang EDDYS acting award, matapos siyang tanghaling Best Supporting Actress para sa kanyang papel bilang multo sa “Espantaho,” na nanalo rin ng Best Visual Effects.

Ang Box Office Hero Award ay iginawad sa mga artistang may matagumpay na pelikula sa takilya: Kathryn Bernardo, Alden Richards, Vice Ganda, Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, Dennis Trillo, Ruru Madrid, Vic Sotto, at Piolo Pascual.

Ang EDDYS, na taunang inorganisa ng Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), ay patuloy sa pagkilala sa kahusayan ng pelikulang Pilipino, binibigyang-halaga ang parehong artistikong merit at epekto sa manonood.
